Yes. Connection goes through Meta Embedded Signup for a business account.

Incoming senders are matched to an existing client or added as one, with their external identity recorded.

Does the AI assistant reply on WhatsApp?

No. The assistant drafts only, and drafting is built for email threads. Nothing is sent without you.
